Digital driving school with an AI copilot
Challenge
DrivIA was born with the goal of bringing theory test preparation to every learner’s phone without the driving school losing control. Driving schools needed their own platform, under their own brand, where learners could practise with DGT-style tests, get answers to their questions at any time and join online classes. At the same time, each school had to be able to track every learner’s progress and spot early who is not ready yet, while the DrivIA team manages the question bank, the content and every driving school from a single panel.
Implementation
At digizone we built two applications on a shared Supabase backend: a PWA for learners, installable on their phones and available in 9 languages, and a web panel for driving schools and administrators. The app adapts its logo and colours to each driving school and includes exam, study and mistake-review modes, a weekly test with rankings, levels, daily goals and push notifications. The AI copilot answers with OpenAI, drawing on the traffic regulations the team uploads as PDFs, which we split into fragments and query with PostgreSQL full-text search. The panel brings together statistics, learner profiles, a question bank with automatic translation and classes on Google Meet.
Result
The result is a white-label platform that lets each driving school offer its learners their own app to prepare for the theory test: they practise, ask the copilot their questions and join live classes from their phone. From the panel, driving schools follow each learner’s tests, study time and progress to spot who needs extra support, while the DrivIA team manages content, classes and support for every school in one place.
